Third......

I woke up saturday morning at 6. I ate breakfast. I was the first student to arrive at the school.

Liz was second, Vince, Brandon, then Meg, then Ross and Kapil, and Zack.
We lift on time around 7.

Kapil actually brought a pillow. Meg brought her binder of crosswords.

On our way there, Ross and Kapil slept. I tried to sleep too, but the damn bus was just too shaky. Liz also tried to sleep, but every time the bus stop, she kept sliding out of her seat.

We arrived at Defiance a little after 8. Andrew was already there. We ate some snacks. Vince, Ross, Kapil, and Andrew switched their name tag. Liz and Meg attempted to french braid Zack's hair. Then it became twin braid, like the Wendy's girl. Zack took it off before the games start.

We kicked ass at first. Then we battled with Defiance, our new nemesis, but we lost. On the losing bracket, we won all the games, but then..... Findlay. Meghan dubbed their starters the "Fantastic Four" featuring The Curly Haired Bitch, The Dyke and etc. The battle was close, we almost won.

Meghan was being a party pooper, destroying our paper airplanes. She elbowed Andrew in the balls. Poor him..

We ate on the way home. We stopped by an McDonald's. Vince, Ross, Kapil, Liz and I separated from the group and went to Arby's. On the way Kapil sang some humorous signalized version of songs from Guys and Dolls. We cracked up.

When we were almost finished eating, Ross went to the bathroom. Liz then said that she felt weird because she was the only non-asian and girl there. We cracked some jokes and gone back to the bus after Ross returned.

On the way back to the bus Kapil sang some more, I was drinking my Mountain Dew and I choked.

Back on the bus Kapil sang even more. Joked about communism. We made fun of some friends. Liz kept sliding off her seat, I have to warn her when ever we were about to stop. Kapil napped across the seats. Ross napped too, but there was no space, so he partially napped on Kapil. Since Kapil's feet was on Liz seat, Liz had to lay on his legs, which she said "was probably the most comfortable bus ride."

I had fun. Coming in third was a disappointment, but I don't really care, because I had fun.

Guys and Dolls

This was the best play I have seen from our Drama Club. This play, I believe, also had the biggest budget and production crew.

I got there ten minutes before the play start. I met Sherry at the Lobby. We watched from the balcony upstairs. The view was great from high above, but the seats where a bit uncomfortable. Lexie, Stephanie, and Devin were working crew in the balcony. During intermission, Sherry was wondering where Sandy was, she used my phone to call her and left her a message.

The live music was great! It is very catchy. The acting was wonderful. The story was funny and interesting. Poor Emily have to walk around without her glasses. Justin B. did a really good job at being a mobster. Justin R. did a really convincing role as an old man. I didn't recognized Kapil because his fro disappeared.

This was great, I am looking forward to future performances.

Immortality.....

Thursday night I saw a news special on ABC about living till 150. It was an fascinating report. But it got me thinking.

I don't doubt on the science they are doing. I have no objection on stem cell research. What I was thinking about is that should we live that long or longer.

In the show a few experts predict that human can live for hundreds of years. Living till one hundred don't worries me. But I have my worry on the environmental and social impact if human can live longer.

We, the human population, are over populating. Yet so many people are starving and dying. Instead of extending the life of those who already lived a lifetime, why not extend the life of those who barely experience life.

With people living longer, population increase. So how are we supposed to feed every one? Food shortage are already a problem. What about where everyone are going to live? We only have so much space to use. The environmental effect of housing and caring would be huge, not to mention how much waste everyone would produce.

They did talk about age discrimination on the show. I agree on how this would be. There would be about five to six generation living together. There would be at least three to four generation gap.

As human age, the brain deterioration or the person's mind would grow crazy with wisdom. Can a person's mind handle all the knowledge or wisdom of hundreds of years.

Should we mess with the chain evolution? or for some people god's design. I think we should continue with research but not applying them yet. Wait till humanity is ready. We shouldn't mess with natural evolution and natural selection.

"Prepare for unforeseen consequence."
