THE UBER BOX!!

Yesturday I went to The MEGA BOX.
It is the largest mall in Hong Kong. It is about 16 stories high, not including the 2 basement levels.

That place only have a few stores that I am interested in. But I love the interior architecture and design of the building.

I did went to a book store. I love that place, they sell books, of course, but also, DVDs VCDs CDs BRs, and stationary, and USB powered goodies.

I bought a four games bundle for the price of one game!!!! Company of Heroes, Supreme Commander, War Hammer and an expansion pack.

I also saw some Haruhi Suzumiya novels and manga. I would by the manga, but they were missing volume 2. For the novels, I wanted to buy some too, but I don't know how to read. (>.<)

Spaces problem

For my time in Hong Kong, the primary source of my digitized data out put, in put, entertainment, and information is at my Grandma's house. My uncle family live with her and they have broadband access.

The internet speed is quite fast, about 100 mpbs, but I can't seem to access MySpace at that place. I can access it from other internet port. I don't understand why.

So all my blog update at my MySpace page will be late, but I will be too lazy to edit any of the blog posts. So blog posts from many days might just appear on the same day.

Alternative

For this trip to Hong Kong, I purposely didn't bring any games with me.
My goal was, and still is, to finished the first volume to my novel and to experience some nice free flash based/ independent games.

Those flash games are really creative. They are really fun and interesting. Some don't have any good graphics but they play well and some of them look cute.

I really like these independent game makers. They work on these title to have fun and to let other people to have fun. They don't mind doing these game for free, because they are having fun and they want other people to enjoy their creation.

Here are some of the games.

Check them out!

extra strong

The mosquitoes here are very strong. They are hard to kill. Their bites are much bigger. There are more of them. They can even sting over cloths.

The Wind God

The Wind God just pasted Hong Kong.

The real name of the typhoon is Fengshen. Wind God is what Fengshen mean if you are to translate it.

The typhoon arrived last night. It went from a level 1 to 3 then to 8, in the evening.

Trees got blown over. Bus stops got blown over.

My Aunty, Uncle and Cousin is going back home. This morning we went to the airport. Their plane got delay. We ate lunch, say good bye, and we left.

By the time we left the airport, the typhoon sign went back to a level 3. We went past an car accident in a tunnel. But I doubt it is weather related.

Today is the only day, since I return to Hong Kong, that isn't hot. I am actually cold.

There ain't much to do today...

It's a small world, also a small park.

I went to Disneyland Hong Kong with family on Friday.

It was fun. Not as fun as the one in LA. But still fun.
The park was small. Many things are still being constructed and not opened yet.
The transportation there was convenient and affordable. $20.7 HKD for one-way subway ride to the park. They also have this nice automatic train to the park.

The best part is Space Mountain, but it wasn't very exciting. Ocean Park got better roller coasters.

Sham Shui Po

Today I went to Sham Shui Po. It is a distributing district. Each street sells something differnt.
One street only sells cloths, one street only sells electronics, and one street only sells toys and collectibles.

I love that place, but my mom and relative was all tired half after walking a few blocks so we left. But I did bought many things. Everything there are so affordable.

Even with all the variety I still can't find what I am looking for. I can't find good Yuki Nagato figures. She is the least popular of the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya characters. But when I find it, it will be cheaper compare to the other characters.

I am going to return to Sham Shui Po. I only walked around one block of the toy street and I have yet visited the electronic street and the computer shopping center.

Rain rain, go away, come again, another day!

It been raining every day here. The weather report aways say sunny, cloudy, and rain every day. They are right every time. You'll see all three at some point during the day.

We had plan to go to Disneyland, Ocean Park, or the Police museum. We had to alter plan for the past few days.

Yesterday, we did go to buy some Chinese Herbal Medicines. But we did it in the rain, we actually waited for the rain to stop, but it didn't stop, but we went anyway.

UBER FAST!!!!

I've just set up a modem at my Grandma's place to split the DSL there.

The connection is very fast here. I downloaded portal in 15 minutes. I downloaded Team Fortress 2 in two hours.

It could also be that our modem at home might just suck. It was free...

Shopping!

I went shopping on Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday, it was more like window shopping since I didn't buy any thing.
I went to Mong Kok with family. I actually didn't mind looking at cloths with them. I guess I missed the fashion of Hong Kong. Then I went to a shopping center that is almost filled with toys and collectible shops.
I wanted to buy so much stuff there. But every thing is a bit expensive. I want to buy a figure of Yuki Nagato from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. But it cost $180 HKD. I guess after converting the currency to USD, it is not as expensive, but I doubt I can get the funding.

The next day I did buy something I like and still cheep. The only reason why it is cheep, it is because I seen it in the States. I saw a Union Flag from Gundam 00 at the Animerathon this year. It cost $30 USD. I bought the Flag for $148 HKD which is about $18 USD.

I love Hong Kong!!!!!

Dead Like Me

Sandy introduced me to this show.

'Dead Like Me' is about an eighteen year old girl who got killed by a soviet space station's toilet seat falling from orbit. She, George, got recruited by a group of grim reaper.

The story tells how George must adapt to her new life as a reaper. She must take people's soul before they are killed. Her identity is gone, far as any one alive is concerned. She live among the living but she is discouraged to have too much interaction with them.

Her boss discouraged, almost forbid, her to interact or even thinking about her old family. But nothing is stopping her. George still sneak back home to check up on her family. She regret not interacting with her sister much when she was still alive. Now she helps her sister to cope with her death and help her with life.

This show is funny, witty, and makes you think about your life. I love it. Too bad there are only two seasons. Check it out on DVD or online sometime.

They are making a 'Dead Like Me Movie.' But some characters and actors won't be returning. They say, if the sale of the direct to DVD movie dose well, they might just film more episodes.
