Google Earth

The newest version of Google Earth is awesome!

There are many new feature. Most of which I will never use. There is the Google Sky to look at the stars, this will keep my astronomy heart busy for a while.

There is a fun hidden feature. It is a flight simulator. "ctrl+alt+a" will start the flight menu. You can chose from two planes. One is a jet, one is a propeller. Then you fly. The HUD is a bit primitive, there are no compass.

If any of reader want to kill some time and enjoy the pixel view of the Earth then download the newest version of Google Earth.

I want some alone time.

They really should lower the adult age. I mean one can be a legal adult at age of 16 or at lest file for emancipation.

I can't stand them. Sure parent are loving and stuff, but they won't leave me alone. (>.<) Not having a room is really not helping. I can't even enjoy TV or any thing. They won't shut up. All day do is judge, not just me but any thing, but I have to listen. The generation gap is also very big, the era of the last generation and this one is very different in Hong Kong.

What annoys me is that they always talk during a TV show, and ask question right when something happens. They almost always miss the answer to their question while asking the question. Another thing is that they are really skeptical of anything. Judge every thing, very stereotypical. I hate to say it but my parent are primitive. Some time they treat me like a very little kid. One time my mom want to rearrange my wallet because my bills are not stack nicely. They always want to do stuff for me, let me try stuff on my own, for the love of buddha.

Some time I am afraid that I am the smartest person with in the family right now.

I just want to be alone for a while, independence. When I want to be with some one, I'll find my self a future wife to be with.

Violence

Every thing in the universe is violent. Human is one of the more violent living thing on this little planet. If we aren't violent genetically, we won't be human. But with out violent, we won't be where we are now.

Why are people, especially old people, against virtual violence yet they support war? Virtual violence is good for a healthy mind, only bad to an already messed up mind. I would so rather fight thousands of alien in a game than killing my fellow human been in real life. Why the hell are we killing each other for illogical reason? Primitive thinking of arrogant and intolerance are causing violence. I learn tolerance threw the media. I learn that war kill from video game, crime doesn't pay from crime shows, logic and understanding will drive the human species forward from sci-fi, and value of friends and other different value from manga, anime, and different media offer in the world.

Why do people waste money fighting, claiming that they are trying to improve their life. But wouldn't saving the money from fighting and using it be better? Sure that the earth is overpopulating and some say war can reduce it, but if we use the effort that we put into killing each other into helping each other, the world would be at least 50 years ahead in technology and humanitarian advancement.

People some time kill because they follow orders, those are not the smart one. The smart one, the one kill by plan not by instinct are the best killer and can put their violent into full potential, even might be good. The best of the worst of us, the one who can use violent to the fullest of potential are the smart people who plan out their killing, the one who also plan to escape, and the one who can learn and adapt to new situation. Some may say it is evolution, it might be, but violent isn't the only way to evolve.

The best of the worst of us who uses violence are usually the one no one expect. The one who are the nicest, the one who care the most, and the one who are quiet. No one suspect them, they hide in plane sight. They might kill because it fun, or it interesting, or for learning. The one who are the worst of the worst of us who kill by plan and liking is more evolve than the primitive killers who kill by instinct. The best of these people can control their violence and only release them in a devastating scale when they chose to. I would rather cross the violence by plan people because I can get to know them and be friend them. The violence by instinct people can be set off by some thing.

So violence drive us, but it is the worst of us. Does it mean that the more we developer the more violent we get. Or can we find a way for peace? Virtual violent is much beneficial to any one because it don't hurt real people, if use properly, it will even help us grow. So why do people fear virtual violence while love real violence? Are the people against virtual violence the most blood thirsty of all?

Human is very mysterious, where will our genetic will drive us?

Any one reading, I want to know what you think. Post some comment!.

Free!!!

Ok, I don't know who really read this. If you don't know me, I don't like to pay monthly fees for games. I am EXTREMELY happy when Granado Espada, or Sword of the New World in the US, stop the level and trade restriction for non-subscribers.

Now I can play again, I gave up this game when I figure out that it won't be fun if I can't level up to more than level 20.

For who haven't heard of Granado Espada, or Sword of the New World, Google search Sword of the New World to see what it all about! It a great RPG game. You can control up to 3 characters at a time. You can move them around or use different tactic with 3 people. Classes are also good, I like the Musketeers.

The enviroment and graphical detail are wounder full. The requrement for this good playing/looking game isn't much. Most normal computer can handle it so it nice and I don't have to upgrade any thing.

WoW's plage is a great research tool for disease researcher.

Beginning from September, 2005, a pandemic outbreak of a Corrupted Blood debuff or curse in World of WarCraft. Pardon me if I get the terminology wrong, I don't play WoW.

This curse is from boss character that was supposed to attack high level player fighting them. It also spread and cause players to scatter and make melee player to stop attack so they can scatter. This curse take a bit of health each second, and don't last long enough to kill a high level player. But some player have pet and the pets also can get the curse.

If the player recall the pet, the curse stay with it and the timer for that curse pulse. When the pet is release the curse continue to spread. It even spread to NPCs. In large city, it wiped out a lot of low level players who don't have the hit point or the heal spell to save them self. Cities were abandon and no one cluster in group.

Blizzard didn't intent for the plague to spread outside of the boss area or to NPCs. Blizzard tried a few different method and even quarantine to stop the plague. It was cure when the programing of how the cures/plague interact with players.

In March, 2007, Ran D Balicer, an epidemiologist physician at the Ben-Gurion University in Israel, described how the WoW plague was similar to the SARS and bird flu outbreaks.

With millions of players online in WoW, Second life, and other MMOs, researchers hope that they can create more virtual outbreaks of deceases in games to study the way how deceases spread from people to people and what way can be use to quarantine and stop deceases.

Who would have thought that games could help find ways to save life!

Source: http://gamepolitics.com/2007/08/21/wow-outbreak-studied-by-pandemic-researchers/

With all this, why don’t they make a MMO for the researcher, and have people from the scientific community and collage volunteer to join. They can call it Pandemic Online.

I am so fucking tire of the stupid ESRB rating system

The current rating system is too out of date. We really need to have a new rating system. The one we have now was made long time ago where there people think every minor are the same. We are growing so fast these day.

Here what I think the new one should be:

EA: Early Childhood (but who is going to use it) [ex: Elmo games]

E: Every one [ex: Pac-man, MySims, sim city]

LC: Late Childhood (8+) [ex: Zelda, Spiderman movie games]

PT: Pre-Teen (10+) [ex: StarCraft, Time splitter, Sims, Gundams, soul caliber, metriod prime, final fantasy]

T: Teen (12+) [ex: Medal of Honor, Dead or Alive]

YA: Young Adult (15+) [ex: Halo, Splinter cell, Doki Doki Majo Shinpan!, counter strike, half life, GTA, resident evil, Dead or Alive: Extream]

A: Adult (18+) [ex: mortal combat, Doom]

X: Explicit content (18+(only with really heavy sexual content)) [ex: Eroge games]

CG: Casual Gamer (any one) [ex: wario ware, nintendog, brain age]

S: Senior (50+) [ex: square dancing revolution]

And they should also consider the factor of the story, or the intensity of certain things to rate the games:

Like if Medal of Honor show blood, the rating shouldn't go up, because the blood are reasonable in a war, espically WWII, it base on actual event. Historic game should have a lower rating. But for Mortal Combat, their blood showing it not realistic, people can't kill that easily or that bloody.

If there are nudity and it not sexual nudity, just normal nudity, the rating shouldn't go up just of two innocent nipples. If the game have a fuck fest, even without nudity, then yes, the rating should go up.

Also, rating should be depending on 2D or 3D. If it bloody in 2D, the rating shouldn't go up.

I can go on much longer, but I have to get to class.
